Award Plants

The Saxifrage Society has its own award, the Sergio Bacci cup. Sergio was a prolific raiser of new Porphyrion cultivars, and, as Sergio had wanted, the Cup he left is awarded periodically to the raiser of the best new Porphyrion cultivar as chosen by members of the Society. The plants that are short listed are a quick guide to the cream of the recent crop.

So far it has been voted for three times, in 1995, 2000 and 2007.  Click to read about the winning plants.

The Royal Horticultural Society has awarded their Award of Garden Merit, the AGM to over 30 Saxifrages.  Here is a current list.
