Saxifrage 2000 : Foreword

This issue of the Saxifrage Magazine is dedicated to reporting on the international seminar, SAXIFRAGE 2000, which the Society held in Loenen, Netherlands, 9 - 12 March 2000.  

Just as the seminar represented for the Society, so too does this issue, with the success of the seminar making possible the use of colour illustrations for the first time.  The choice is representative of saxifrages as a whole, showing examples from 7 of the 15 sections, and concerned to supplement the stock of illustrations already out there, with a number of species shown which have very rarely, if ever, been illustrated previously in colour.
